I was recently visiting the beaches in northeast Jacksonville, namely Blackrock Beach. The same stretch of beach has several names for specific spots like Boneyard Beach and Driftwood Beach. I have shot here many times over the years, but was there again a few days ago doing some research for an upcoming project I am working on.

Well, I don't know what to say, but will try without being too negative. What was once pristine and quiet is now overrun with people who don't seem to respect the land. Trash and litter everywhere, people drawing all over the old massive driftwood, and everything seems to be trampled upon. It seems like a lot of the new imported persons do not have any respect for the natural location, it's very sad to see. A magical gem turned into another overrun nightmare that nobody can enjoy. I definitely shed a tear for Blackrock Beach that day.
So that brings me to my point here.
Go visit the amazing places that you can, while you can.

It seems every day we lose a little bit more of nature and it is truly heartbreaking to see.
Though some things do remain and while you can still get some pretty amazing landscape photos at Blackrock Beach, you will now almost certainly have to work hard to exclude any human elements. Where before the only people you would really see were a few engagement photo sessions.

I hope people come to realize some things you can't get back. We all have to share these natural resources so please do your best to leave no trace.
